How To Get Back in the Blogging Groove?

June 15, 2016  |  Random

I have been a very very bad person lately, I’ve neglected a lot of things in my life and on this virtual world and one of them happens to be this blog, I just can’t seem to either find the time to write or the motivation.  But I still have the want to keep this journal alive! I mean where else can you get into the deep parts of my mind (not that I have any depth really hehe I’m as shallow as they come, just kidding, maybe not?!)

I have abandoned my blog, twitter, and pretty much some of my friends because I can’t be bothered sometimes hehe.  I think Instagram and Snapchat are the most updated social media platforms I’ve got and twitter gets updated automatically with my Instagram.  Maybe I should find a way to post whatever I share on Instagram here on the blog.  That can generate lots of material but then again some would be noise.

Anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get my groove back? How to jump back on the blogging wagon! Hell I forgot to even celebrate my blog’s 12th anniversary! It’s been 12 years! Drop me a line if you are still around here reading!

  1. Well this is to say that there still those who lurk around fancying the gold old blogging days.

I guess that considering the blog material as obligation will yield extra stress while all you need to do is just get back to your couch and blog whenever you feel like it and whatever crosses your mind.

Just go back to your essentials and whatever drove you back then to blog.

    • Aww to have people still around reading some of the jibberish I write hehe that’s awesome! You have no idea how happy your comment made me, I will definitely try to go back to my essentials, I used to love just sharing my day to day life. I guess I should get back into the groove!

      Thanks for sticking around!

  2. I’m still around and I read and I’m in the exact situation! I want to fill it with content that is stuck in my head but don’t feel like going through the effort of putting the content together! Why can’t I have some machine read my mind and format it for me! Loooool

    • Hehehe I know you’ll always be reading my blog hehe :P You’re one of the OG’s! And I totally feel you! It’s just hard to organize the thoughts or get the images to match and such, I too want that machine that’ll read my mind hehe but it might get lost hahahaha :P

  3. I can relate. I have all my post outlines ready with little motivation grease to keep anything moving. My shop has been pending for a year now despite the amount of money and time I put into it.

I think it’s a focus issue really. Blogging is not dead (at least not internationally). I don’t follow you on Instagram or Snapchat but I’m assuming those two platforms take precedence because they’re easier to publish in compared to a blog post. Before we had prolonged attention span and motivation to sit through a post because that’s all there was. That ability grew smaller with the instant gratification of microblogging. I would suggest downsizing social media, if you can. The more you share there, the more you either feel there’s little left to share here or not enough energy to share it to begin with.

Keep posting meanwhile even if the content is aimless at first, it’s just to keep the momentum going. I think you’ll find your groove back very soon. Best of luck.

    • I totally get that, thanks for the advice and I will, you never know what’ll be the trigger to get me back 100% again hehe.
