Ok So I really need help with an issue.. Something that is annoyingly pissing me off.. if there is anyone out there who is a techie freak well please.. please help me :( you see i have a wireless network.. and lately I have been facing some trouble.. I recently checked out the router and well the lights seem to blink all of them at one time and then rest on the right spots for like a split second and then blink back again :r it’s killing me.. oh yea the router is a D-link DI-614+ the first version out :r if anyone can help please oh please I would be ever so grateful ;r

one think i beleive you should first do is check for a firmware upgrade for your access point… you should go to dlink’s website and download it if applicable. go here http://support.dlink.com/ and enter your product info and see what you need.
Thanks, I’ll try that.. there is a firmware upgrade but I was fearful to upgrade to it ;r
If all else fails, the good ol reset switch.
I tried.. I guess it crashed.. guess its time for a brand new router ;r
I got a USRobotics it works pretty good, but planning to upgrade to one that is a dsl modem+router instead of having 2 things just 1.
My friend got one from DLink and had trouble with it returned it and it was defective could be something about DLinks.
I was thinking of going for the new DLink G model, but I dunno, I want something really reliable and able to transmit a good signal in a 3 floor house ;r Basement, ground floor, and first floor ;r
You want all 3 floors? So not possible with off the shelf router. You would need repeaters. What I would suggest is a LinkSys they work great and one of the cool things about them is they have something called WAP11 that does repeating. What you would need to do is have one on each floor to repeat(spread) the signal.
Another option is having a really long antenna from your Wireless AP, but then everyone in your street will have access to you connection. You are using WEP right?
I guess I’ll check it out, but I doubt that we have the linksys models here in Kuwait, but I will check it out.. thanks alot nibaq :)
