New Shows To Watch
As all of you know, we are starting the Fall Show Season and with all our amazing shows coming back such as 30 Rock, Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Dirt, Friday Night Lights, Las Vegas, Til Death (already came back), Ugly Betty, Weeds (which is already back), and One Tree Hill (which’ll be back in January) there are tons of new shows premiering and showing up. Last year I was preparing for the new shows by reading up on them beforehand, this year I kept on stumbling on some, although I already had in mind “Gossip Girl” which ananyah already wrote about after I told her to watch it one night through an SMS message hahaha! So yeah, here is a new list of what I want to watch, and what I stumbled upon!
Chuck (NBC on Mondays, Premieres Today)
This show tells the story of how you should always be careful when opening emails, you don’t know what you’re getting in that email. Chuck Bartowski, a Computer Geek, learns the lesson the very hard way, where he gets an email from a friend that is loaded with super spy secrets. This email is automatically downloaded into his brain and now he is the prime target for spies and assassins so what does the government do? They take him in to protect their secrets from the bad guys. It’s an action comedy and sounds like a great watch so I’m looking forward to it. Plus, Kipp Steadman from Less than Perfect stars in it as Chuck, and he always has been such an adorable actor, might be worth it checking him out. [Trailer]
Starring: Zachary Levi (Less than Perfect Kipp Steadman), Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, Yvonne Strzechowski, and Ryan McPartlin.
The Big Bang Theory (CBS on Mondays, Premieres Today)
This show basically is a comedy sitcom illustrating how most nerds nowadays, or scientists who can probably solve for you E=Mc2, that they know nothing about what really goes on in life. This story shows you 2 scientists who basically know everything about quantum physics and how once they meet a hot girl they suddenly find themselves speechless and without a bit of knowledge. I think this show might have something cool going on, but I’m not sure, I just want to check it out because it stars one of the girls from 8 Simple Rules and I just want to see how she is in this one. [Trailer]
Starring: Kaley Cuoco (8 Simple Rules, Charmed) Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar, and Johnny Galecki
Carpoolers (ABC on Tuesdays, Premieres Oct 2)
Ever wondered what would happen if they created a show about carpooling? Well this is another comedy show, if you noticed I like comedies, that is about four typical suburban men (sort of like the opposite of Desperate Housewives) a divorced dentist and playboy named Laird (Jerry O’Conell), another guy named Aubrey (Jerry Minor) who is the sole provider for his family especially his wife who is a couch potato (trust me it’s not me!), a professional mediator named Gracen (Fred Goss) who is all about traditional values and is married to a house flipper named Leila (Faith Ford), and finally the new guy named Dougie (Tim Peper) who just married Cindy (Allison Munn). The four guys in this show basically sit and rant about life, family, money, and work as they carpool to work. It sounds quite promising just checking out how these guys are going to make it in such a scene, as you know women are always seen as the ones who rant and whine and complain well now the tables are turned and I’d sure love to see how they whine about life in this show. [Trailer]
Starring: Jerry O’Connell (Crossing Jordan), Tim Peper, Faith Ford (Hope & Faith), Fred Goss, T.J. Miller, Allison Munn, and Jerry Minor.
Samantha Who? (ABC on Mondays, Premieres Oct 15)
What happens when you wake up one day get dressed, leave to go to your office and you get hit by a car and left there unconscious! You wake up 8 days later to find yourself a victim of a hit-and-run accident and that you were in a coma. You also discover that you have amnesia and no memories whatsoever about your life. What is your life? Well you are a psychiatrist, you cheat on your boyfriend with married men, you don’t know who to trust, and you discover that the so-called accident wasn’t really an accident but someone was actually trying to kill you! Well this is a comedy show that shows us Samantha (Christina Applegate) who plays the psychiatrist, hit-and-run victim. This show basically brings you a bad character who gets hit by a life-threatening situation and in turn tries to be all good again! Kind of like “13 Going on 30″ don’t you think? I am watching this one because I like Christina Applegate, Jennifer Esposito, and Melissa McCarthy, so who knows it might turn out to be nice after all! [Trailer]
Starring: Christina Applegate (Married with Children), Jennifer Esposito (Related), Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls), Jean Smart, Tim Russ, Kevin Dunn, and Barry Watson
P.S. My good friend Angelo wrote also a review of new shows he’ll be watching and of those shows I will be checking out Big Shots, Pushing Daisies, and Back to You. If they’re really amazing I’ll be writing them up. Oh and don’t forget I’ll be following Gossip Girl every week!

Big Bang Theory was surprisingly good…I didn’t think “geek humor” would be quite funny. The pilot of Chuck was strong but I wonder how the writers can make the script a long “running-gig” for the upcoming episodes and seasons.
Unfortunately, Journeyman (the one that I mentioned in my list) wasn’t that good.

There is also the show Aliens in America that I’m checking out. And K-Ville which is looking good. Then I’m following the usual list. As soon as things get going I will post the ones I’m following for sure!

chikapappi : I always have time for my TV hehe and yeah I download episodes onto my ipod Nano and watch them sometimes in bed when I can’t sleep!
dandoon : Check out Gossip Girl it’s great. I still haven’t watched Grey’s Anatomy, I want the first 3 seasons so I can start from the beginning.
Laialy_q8 : What about Chuck!
Shoush : No problemo ;P
Nonaw : Oh I know about that list and yeah Chuck was hot hehe ;p
Laila : Not into Ally McBeal, I think she’s in Brothers & Sisters right? And House I don’t know something about it doesn’t make me want to follow it.
Swair : I claim him khalas, I want nerdy boys! Nerd Herd!
Angelo : I didn’t watch Journeyman yet, but I did catch Big Bang and it was cute, I like tall skinny guy Sheldon LOL! Such a geek! And yeah but I think it’s kind of weak, I mean last year they had “The Class” on at the same time same network and it was better than this but oh well!
Marzouq : Will try to check out Aliens in America but I’m not sure about it, K-ville is something I’m not sure about hehe and yeah same here I’ll do the same.
