I Know Your Name

June 8, 2008  |  Doing Good, Random, Work

As the days go by, I tend to shock the customers more and more, I have this small gift well not really a gift, but I can remember some customers by names.  I can even remember some of their latest transactions, therefore there are some that I seem to shock when they come into the branch.  Naturally once they enter, I would greet them by their name and welcome them in, asking them how we could be of service to them, and they would sometimes stare at me unbelieving that I know all that.  Some would shrug it off, others would ask me “How do you know our names, is it that your customer base is so small or do you have a secret?”  I reply by saying “It’s just that there are some customers that are special and are easily remembered” thereby flattering them and making them blush.

One recent event happened was when a customer was passing by to settle some bills, once I saw her I immediately remembered that she always comes to settle the bills and especially her VISA card, so I greeted her and told her that you have  a renewed VISA card waiting for you, her friend who was not one of our customers was shocked and said “How did you know all that without taking any of her information?” I just replied by saying my usual reply of how some faces are easily remembered.  The customer then moved onto the relationship officer after I got her cards and I went back to her friend and offered her something to drink, it was then she said the one thing that made my entire WEEK! She told me “Oh my god! The Customer service here is phenomenal!” And here I blushed, I got her something to drink and went back to my desk to serve the next customer.  It makes my day when I get someone to smile or shock them in a nice way, but it also puts me down to meet those whiny, nagging, ungrateful customers!

That is basically my story with the customer service world.

  6. customer service sucks, but you don’t :)

  7. It takes so little to make us (customers) happy!

In Florida, my bank teller stopped me and said “I see you wrote a check to XXX Protection Against Insect Infestation. Don’t you know about 20 Mule Team Borax?”

She told me how to flea/cockroach proof my house using a not-toxic-to-pets detergent for pennies, instead of hundreds of dollars. Saved me a fortune. I will never forget her kindness.

  8. hmmm..thats a good thing u have…but there are times that even when you remember that client you don’t even want to greet him coz of the stress and work load! :???:
