The title was going to be a handful as it was going to go on and on, but I decided to divide this post into two. So last Tuesday (July 27) Apple decided to update it’s iMac, Mac Pro, and Cinema Display line. This update brought some cool features and speed bumps to it’s existing products. As much as I am tempted I am not going to be updating any of my Apple Desktops anytime soon, mainly because I shouldn’t do that regardless of the temptation (the temptation is huge sometimes) so what’s new in the lines? Check out the deets below!
iMac – Summer 2010
The new iMacs are now featuring the latest Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors as well as new graphics cards making them a bit more powerful than before and giving you more value to your money. They are now available in the following specs but of course you know you could always build your customized iMac.

- 3.06 GHz Core i3 / 4GB RAM / 500GB HDD / ATI Radeon HD 4670 [$1199]
- 3.20 GHz Core i3 / 4GB RAM / 1TB HDD / ATI Radeon HD 5670 [$1499]

Mac Pro – Summer 2010
What’s new here? Let’s just say you can get up to 12 cores of processing power and up to 50% greater performance than the previous generation. These babies have the new ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics hardware as well as the availability to upgrade to the powerful Radeon HD 5870 as a BTO option. The Mac Pro is one powerful beast at the moment and I’m loving it!
Base Configurations are:
- 1x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core / 3GB RAM / 1TB HDD [$2499]
- 2x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core / 6GB RAM / 1TB HDD [$3499]
12-core options are available at either 2.66 GHz or 2.93 GHz starting from $4999 and these models are set to ship in the beginning of August.
Apple Cinema Display
Apple’s Display Devices are awesome, we all know how awesome the 27″ iMac’s screen is, the awesome Retina Display on the iPhone 4, and not to forget the awesome display of the iPad. So if we can agree on one thing, it’s that Apple knows its way around Displays. They had just discontinued the 24″ and 30″ Cinema displays and introduced a new 27″ LED Cinema Display with a built-in MagSafe charging unit, iSight Camera, speakers, and USB ports, this display is highly ideal for Macbook/Macbook Pro users, and not to forget the mac Mini users too. This baby will be available in September for a price of $999 but will require a Mac with a Mini Display Port connectivity to run.
Previous models of the 24″ Apple Cinema Display saw a price drop to $799 from it’s previous $899 and the 30″ Cinema HD Display is available at $1799 and that’s only until supplies run out.
All in all, this was part one of the new products introduced by Apple this past Tuesday stay tuned for part two coming to a screen near you.

I’ve tried to buy throughout Apple UK . but I found it more expensive . the difference is about 400 $ – 500 $ . because I wanted customized features on the iMac
I enjoyed the my macbook pro . which I bought a year ago . but I am looking for a desktop machine that can be always on my home ..
