Zain released their TVC of the Zain Flash Mob that happened earlier this month in the Avenues and it brought back the goosebumps; not only that but I loved loved all the angles! Gave us a better view than those other YouTube videos :P
Check it out!

Last week was filled with election hoop-la and stress but what most of you have probably heard about a lovely thing happened on Friday afternoon at the Avenues Mall. A group of Kuwaiti youth (I think they all would classify as that) men and boys and with the inclusion of a girl who lip-synced a part of the song were seen performing a “Flash Mob”.
Most of you probably know about Flash Mob’s from YouTube and certain movies (read: Friends with Benefits) and thus this wasn’t a new phenomena to see. The new thing about it is how it was beautifully put together. My colleague and friend at the (Onilda Fernandez) [] wrote a lovely piece about how it all came out to be. Did you know that it took 2 months to put together and that the young men were all too stressed out from rehearsing but the day of the Flash Mob they felt happy because of the interaction that happened with the audience?
I for one am proud of what they did; the only thing I missed out on was some of the Kuwaiti Songs that I loved while growing up and having a bit more of a musical ooomph (you know ranging from slow to fast to slow to fast again :D) But nonetheless I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any different.
For those of you who have been complaining about these past few weeks well I have news for you! is the lesser of all evils! At least I know that when I have a problem I can contact them via their Social Media and get instant answers (that happened with me when I ordered my iPhone 4S) also I know that once I order something it will come to Kuwait most likely on time and not like these losers!
SUCKS MAJOR BUTT!
Seriously the worst service I have EVER EVER USED! Once you hear my story you will just be outraged by how bad their service is. So here goes:
Back in August I decided to subscribe to them after hearing some (and by some I mean 1-2 ) good reviews and there were no bad reviews out there. I thought “Wow! This might be a service which I can get behind and actually use, its fast and cheap!” And boy was I wrong! The sign up process was easy but the rest was horrible. The only good thing that came out of the whole ordeal is that my bill is the lowest ever!
[WARNING: Long post rant ahead!]
[Shout Outs] Not Yet Vintage
A few days ago I received an introductory email about one of the newest Kuwaiti businesses out there “.” They provided me with a small brief synopsis on the website in order to get us to understand the idea.

is a community for vintage lovers. Buy products or sell your own through us, whether new or a bit used, we do it all for you and all you have to do is RECEIVE. People acquire products that may be used or still brand new, but instead of throwing them out, or keeping them in storage, you can make $$ through us!! If you have products which have prospects of being vintagy, (having that classic flair), contact us through our HELP page or info@notyetvintage.com, and within 48-72 hours your products will be available on our website, for the whole world to see! The process is so very easy: first you price your product/s and send them to our office; second we determine the condition; finally if we think they are NYV (Not Yet Vintage), you’re in! Off to hair and makeup they go! We photograph your products, market, and ship them off! If your product/s isn’t sold, you have the option of getting it back. Can we hear a win-win anybody? If you have any questions please email us at info@notyetvintage.com. As always, ‘Beauty never fades, it only goes vintage.’ -NYV team
In short, I believe the concept is similar to having an eBay account for vintage items, so if you have an item out there which you don’t use anymore and feel that it might have the “vintage” seal on it be sure to send it in and see if it sells. Everyone appreciates an easy way to make some extra cash for that one thing you want but can’t have.
Thanks to the NYV team for sending this in!
So I’ve been back for the past week and a few days and I have been ever since jet lagged to the limit! It’s either that or I am the queen procrastinator (which I also am) you see ever since before I left my clock has been whacked out at the time I was telling myself that I was preparing myself for New York time and the shift there but I think I’m just being too lazy, spending so much time watching shows and turning my brain into a cabbage patch kid than doing anything important but I’m not sure the jury is still out for that verdict.
I came back to the heat, and although I hate it hehe I get to hibernate and that I love hehe until the a/c stops working! Then I start hating everything and everyone. I am really trying to find a solution to my sleeping patterns you see even if I wake up at 10 or 11 and then stay up all day without a nap I can’t seem to sleep (even though I’m dead tired) before 4AM! I don’t know why, maybe I should change the clock on my MacBook Air from New York time to Kuwait time. But I kinda like the New York time since it tells me when my shows are out without having to convert time in my head LOL! :P
Anywho, I hope I get back to this thing called “blogging” I really do! I need to do something useful and I should but I don’t wanna promise myself because I worry that I won’t keep it up. Otherwise, I’m happy to be home (until I start craving some good decent Max Brenner’s Chocolate!)
The second I saw this video via I laughed my head off and started imagining Marzouq as Hitler, I can also be substituted basically whoever did the video is a genius because they covered all the grounds for it except perhaps the censorship!
But in the end it’s absolutely genius!
I have finally come back and I am not really ready to leave my vacation mode :/ I am not ready for work or any of the hassle and heart ache I will experience for now I will simply relive my beautiful days in the US and try to deal with my jet lag and such!
Stay tuned for everything that happened in the US, I promise to write ASAP.
These past few days there was a Gulf Cup going on which had most of the men occupied as well as some of the women, I myself did not watch this Gulf Cup since the last time I watched the team was in the worst shape possible within those past 12 years. But good for them turning the table around and winning the Gulf Cup for the 10th time since the beginning of the cup itself.
I heard that the Kuwait Team outdid themselves and were amazing, wish them all the best and hopefully they can keep this pace going and not repeat past mistakes.
I seriously can’t believe it’s been 12 years since I went crazy for this cup, I remember in the late 90s when I was going crazy watching the final game and Jassim Al Howaidei I think, Faraj Laheeb, were some of the main players in that game it was insanely fun hopefully we get those days back again.
Congrats to the Kuwait Team. Yaaaaay Kuwait!
Last Friday was the 2nd Redbull FlugTag Event that was held in Kuwait. I went with my dad and little sister, last time I was there was in 2007 and it was fun I remember having a lot of fun sitting on the beach and enjoying the event. This year however they chose to do the event right there in the Marina Crescent, next to the shipping docks I guess. I found that strange since the place can’t hold many people there. It got crowded and messy and dis-organized but I did like the fact that there were big screens around for you to see the event if you were too far away (not that they helped much without hearing the hosts that clearly). One thing that was missing the sense of having a fun family atmosphere!
Last time I sat on the sand with my cousins, sisters, and was able to walk around with my friends to different areas of the beach to see the boats/planes fly off that platform it was awesome and fun! I also remembered knowing exactly who was going to be participating before hand because mostly all bloggers had blogged about it ages ago. This year I went in blind.
It started off with a dance or something around 1pm but I guess they started late. They kind of chose a bad timing to have this event, had it been earlier around 10am or later it would’ve been cooler since the weather would be nicer and you wouldn’t have to suffer the burning heat, not to mention after 4:30 the sun starts to move away and we get to be in total darkness. But needless to say after wandering aimlessly trying to find that perfect spot to watch the event I gave up around 2:30 or 3 and went to have lunch with my sister and dad. My little sister really enjoyed herself and was even able to shoot this cute video which we uploaded to YouTube. She’s really excited about it and wants to be famous. Be sure to watch it and leave her a comment either here or on her YouTube Channel.
Until then, adieu!
This past weekend was kind of nice and relaxing, I ended up getting a much needed massage and relaxing, sleeping in as much as I could, visiting family, but the most important event is when I babysat my sister and cousins, 4 girls in total. Do you know what they call babysitting 4 girls? Well I don’t but it’s sure as hell noisy!
The ages were as follows: My sis Lilo 8 years old, L2 6 years old, J1 4 years old, and J2 2 years old. The cutest one of them all was J2 and she was adorable just so adorable walking around well waddling more like it and ordering me, they got to be too noisy as soon as my grandma left to go shopping with my other sister. And so I decided putting a movie for them would be the secret to getting them to quiet down but I am such an amateur when it comes to that because after 15 minutes of trying to figure out which DVD player was working and putting the movie on, I innocently asked, “Does anyone want popcorn? Anything other than popcorn?” and I just got “Me, me me me” and not to mention my sister telling me “I want nachos” I replied “What am I a cinema booth?!” LOL! Seriously then I had to figure out how to make manual popcorn but then I found the Microwavable popcorn (I blame the Internet for making me too lazy to know how to make regular popcorn seriously) and once that was done I left them in my grandma’s bedroom with their nanny and the door open and stayed in the living room watching “Couples Retreat” then watching the latest episode of “The Vampire Diaries” I kept hearing them and J2 kept coming to me and annoying me but in the end I had a headache the size of Africa and a few hours later I forced my sister to get me some junk food to compensate for the torture I was put under and I went home!
To say it was hell would be an understatement but to say it was awesome would even a greater understatement because it was FUN! a lot of fun! But I hope that my kids will not do this to me because not only will I take away their iPads, iPods, iPhones, iMacs, Macbooks, I will turn all evil on them :P
But hey, at least they are girls and not boys! Boys are even harder especially my two munchkins Toons and Issous!
