With the recent cable cutting and slow down of the Internet comes my beautiful exclusive article with , not to mention the crappy data cap that has been put on most of the Mobile Internet Devices provided by other Service Providers. Earlier in March I was invited to attend a private demonstration of one of the top-secret new devices that would be coming out in the near future, I was invited by Mr. Mohammed Al Muhaini, who is part of the Social Media Group along with some of his other colleagues. I felt all important and special to get a real life glimpse at this secret device which in all reality if it fell in my hands would be abused simply because I would be able to satisfy my heart’s worth with all the TV Shows and Movies I would love to watch.
What is this device you say?
Well you have all heard of the LTE Technology that is being used abroad in many countries such as the US & Japan, as well as some Middle Eastern countries I believe such as KSA. To state it scientifically, LTE is “a preliminary mobile communication standard, formally submitted as a candidate 4G system to ITU-T in late 2009, was approved into ITU (International Telecommunications Union, IMT-Advanced and expected to be finalized by 3GPP in early 2011.” () In short, it is a new form of technology similar to what we have today as EDGE/3G networks, well LTE is a variant of the 4G network. It was first proposed in Japan and ever since has been adopted as the international standards.
What does LTE mean to you?
With LTE the download speeds and upload speeds have surpassed anything and everything that a normal connection can give you it can go all the way up to 3.3 Gigabit peak download rates if not more however when it comes to the device that will soon be provided by it would probably reach the 100 Megabit connection if not a bit more.
How would LTE look like?
You know at right now how you can easily go out there and subscribe to any e-Go package from , WNet package from , or even the Internet from ? They provide you with a USB Dongle which you plug into your computer and allows you to access the Internet. Well the LTE technology is no different than that you will be given a similar device in which you plug it into your computer and experience the Internet as it should’ve been!
What did I do in my visit?
From the moment I got there, I hit it off with mostly everyone on the Social Media team, it helped that I was already sort of famously known as the Apple Guru (due to my insane obsession [see something good can always come out of it]) but that wasn’t the awesome thing. I was shown to one of the computers where an LTE connection was already there established and it was being used. I was told I could check out the download speeds for myself and well I did. I decided I wanted to check out the latest BluRay Rip release of a movie which was around let’s say 3GB in size and asked them to download it for me to see the speed of the device. For some reason it was a bit slower than usual in which it took close to 3-5 minutes to fully download 3GB movie. Whereas, previously a 3GB download would’ve taken all of 1 minute or so; it all depends probably on the traffic and because this device is not out in public yet there shouldn’t be that much traffic but once in a blue moon it happens.
What is my verdict?
I fell in love with this product and I told it to Mohammed and the guys, if you ever released that beautiful piece of technology rest assured I will be the first to grab me one (granted that the subscription rates are a bit decent and not insanely high) but I warn you I will actually abuse it to no return therefore consider this my warning. After they laughed with me on that topic we grabbed some screenshots and off I was back to my normal life.
Stepping into the land of Hi-speed internet is just awesome it makes me feel as if I am Alice and I’m in Wonderland I never want it to end but good things always end sometime. So that’s been my take on the LTE Technology that will soon be offerred by Zain.

It’s been ages since I’ve ever handled a Nokia phone for myself, don’t get me wrong, my family still are Nokia-oriented (parents that is) but I myself quit after the poor quality I saw with the Nokia N76 [read: the red phone that was so slim just like the moto razer] but I just got an opportunity from our good friends Nokia Middle East to test out the new Nokia X6, the music oriented phone. Late Thursday evening I received my device from Dubai and I’ve been trying it out these past few days.
Do you want to know what’s the funny thing? Yesterday during my family’s gathering I took it along with me and started selling some of the points that I liked about it and guess what? I had 5 family members willing to buy it off me to test it out. There are some awesome things about this device but I’ll review it properly along these next few months but for those interested right now, this phone ROCKS THE IMAGING! [read: 5mp Carl Zeiss Camera with Autofocus and flash] and its Music functionality is simply amazing. There are some pet peeves that I saw with this phone but more on that later I’ll leave you now with some pictures of my unboxing.

For those of you missing the show “Malcom in the Middle” I guess this might fill in that gap a bit, I have never been a follower of that show but this one has got me by it’s hooks. It’s not “Modern Family” awesome but it’s awesome on its own. It basically follows a middle class family from the Midwest and shows you what the mother has to deal with when raising 3 kids, a teenage boy rampant on his hormones, a barely teenage daughter and her awkwardness, and the little genius they named Brick to sound cool who is like the “Sheldon Cooper” of their family. It’s quite funny and has you rolling on the floor when you see the little kid.
I fell upon it one day while reading a couple of TV show reviews and gave it a watch and now I like it. It’s part of my Thursday fun shows to watch.

Although the show has been cancelled I couldn’t help but want to write about it since it was one of the new shows that were introduced this season on ABC and one of the first that got cancelled for not bringing in too much ratings. Unfortunately it could’ve been something had it not been for the cliched story-lines.
This show basically talks about 3 women who possess unique powers and how they meet each other in the village of Eastwick, a village that is not oblivious to a little bit of supernatural stuff going around in it. Think, Charmed but without the sisterhood of real life sisters. You’ve got Roxanne Torcolletti, an uninhibited artist who is known as the Black Widow since they think she killed her husband and she has the gift of premonition. Then there is Kat Gardener, the nurse who has a ton of children a bum of a husband and the gift of healing and making living things grow (i.e. plants, changing weather, etc.). Finally there is Joanna Frankel a shy newspaper reporter who has the gift of persuasion, getting people to do what she wants. They are all brought together when Darryl Van Horne comes into town and makes their wishes come true. The wishes that bonded them together when they coincidentally made a wish and flicked their coins into the fountain.
I really liked it and enjoyed seeing the amazing actresses on screen Lindsay Price, Rebecca Romijin, and Jaime Ray Newman. I think if you want to watch something even if it’s cancelled you can give this show a watch.

I should’ve wrote about this TV Show earlier but I was working my way through the list and well alphabetically and the day that this show airs puts it near the end, therefore it took me ages including the weeks and months I used to procrastinate. Anyways, this is my IT show for the season apart from “White Collar” this show gives me my man candy and gives me awesome suspense and fear. It is close up there to replacing the gap that was left by “Charmed” when The WB ended its hit show. And I am glad that this show is still on that network however it is now called The CW.
The Vampire Diaries talks about well it tells the story of two vampire brothers and their return to Mystic Falls, Stefan and Damon Salvator. The good vampire who has given up sucking the blood out of humans, Stefan, decided it was time to visit his uncle and by doing so he met the girl of his dreams, a mortal, a human, Elena Gilbert, who incidentally looks like his dead ex-vampire girlfriend. Damon, his brother followed him back and well let’s just say he came to stir a little bit of trouble being the bad boy that he is. This show has a good dosage of suspense, adventure, horror, romance, and some comedy when you need that comic relief. I highly highly recommend it if not for the man candy that you see then for the sexiness of vampires being back on the small screen.
