Let’s just recap:

The Show That Lost Everything

When “Arrested Development” aired in 2003, it may have been a few years ahead of its time, receiving minimal reception from Fox audiences. However, TV lovers fell to the shows charm and wit, not to mention the complexity of the characters, the story dynamic and the interwoven plot schemes. “Arrested Development” became the cult-classic show of the 2000 hype. But like other unique shows before it, such as David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks,” it wasn’t destined for a weekly format and an audience on a Big Five network. “Arrested Development” was canceled and fans were left wanting more.

The ‘Arrested Development’ Documentary

With all the popularity of the show, it was about time someone made some sort of documentary about it? Well, that’s what self-described “super-fans” Jeff Smith and Neil Lieberman put together on the “Arrested Development Documentary Project” released in ’07.

Not only did the documentary highlight fun facts from the extensive pilot script of 70 pages to the near appearances of Ricky Gervais and Christopher Walken, but it also showed the true dedication fans had for the show and love the cast had for being part of the series.

The Stream Keeping It All Together

It seems like “Arrested Development” was made for the Netflix format. As each episode highlights a different primary character, the instant format allows audiences to dive deeper into the Bluth family without waiting weeks between new airings. Netflix has advertised the new season with nine different character posters, trailer clips and a front-page banner on the Netflix menu.

There has long been a strong desire for a return of “Arrested Development.” But until Netflix, no programming company has ever been able to make it happen. For years, there was talk of a movie, and now it seems that a returning season may be the key to getting “Arrested Development” on the big screen. With so much talk abound before the new season has even aired, it seems certain that the pieces are falling back into place for creator Mitch Hurwitz to move forward.

The Revival

With the new season premiering May 26, it’s time for people to rekindle their love or get acquainted with the show. Fans and newcomers alike can watch the original episodes of “Arrested Development” on TV through www.Cable-tv.com. However, the new season will only be available through Netflix.

Most viewers feel right at home watching the show with its star-studded cast, boasting actors from Jason Bateman and Michael Cera to Will Arnett, David Cross and Portia de Rossi. But the new season features many special guest appearances. Carl Weathers and Liza Minnelli return alongside comedic stars like Ben Stiller, Conan O’Brien, Seth Rogen, John Krasinski and Kristen Wiig. Even the holy thugs from “Workaholics” is slated to appear. “Arrested Development” has never been short of talent.

Crazy characters, a talented cast, and interwoven stories have made the show a better fit for instant streaming and marathon watching. Now the show returns to showcase a new evolution of TV programming.

This past year of blogging has seen some improvements, Jacqui has become a doll that roams around abandoned warehouses, again scratch that I meant visits events and attends gatherings not to mention gaining a slight more readership when it comes to this humble abode.  Life is simple, life is sweet, and I’m really enjoying this journey.  I don’t want to take a lot of your time but here are some links to my past celebrations, and I’m hoping that I’ll be around to welcome in the big TEN!

He was so sweet and down to earth, the moment he arrived we started snapping his photograph while he took out his own digital camera and started taking pictures of the place itself.  Mr. Cavalli had arrived on Friday to attend the official opening of the Cavalli Cafe and was leaving later that evening.  It was my first time in the cafe and I enjoyed some of the sweet items on the set menu while waiting for my few minutes with Mr. Cavalli.

A short while later I was led inside to sit down greet him, have a short chit-chat, take a picture and then leave.  I also asked for his autograph which he obliged with and then the moment was over.  Off I went with a smile on my face and happy thoughts in my head.

Thank you Cavalli Cafe and Senyar Media for the lovely invitation, the organization of this event was divine simply because everything was on schedule and organized!

How has it been all those years? I’ve loved the early years where I used to talk about my university life and how classes were sometimes boring (sorry some Professors) coping with university life and helping out my parents with my sisters took a toll on me but I was the most active then.  I especially loved the days where I wrote about my USA trips, I would commit to a full month of log-writing which is awesome.

Shortly after in 2006 (2 years after I started blogging) I graduated and by the end of the year started working at a bank which was basically my darkest years.  I still read some posts from way back when and see how miserable I was.  That basically was the beginning of the next chapter in life.  I am still in that chapter although jobless at this moment I would guess that the next chapter would be marriage (if that’s written in the stars for me, if not oh well).

I was insanely active the first 4 years or so but later on life caught up and my activity decreased, I still try to commit but it’s too hard sometimes.  I do my best right now and blog as soon as I’m able to but I have noticed I stopped sharing every aspect of life (its a good thing sometimes) I remember being able to check my blog to figure out where I went that day to compare whether it was me who got that speeding ticket or not hehe.

In short, I don’t know what I should do for this year’s celebration.  Any ideas?

The moment I opened the bag, I was insanely overwhelmed simply because I had already seen what my friends had received (Danderma, Swera, PinkGirlQ8) and I was anticipating the gorgeousness of my gift.  Little did I know it would surpass my expectations.  I was greeted with a customized travelling mug specifically made for me.  Unfortunately I don’t drink coffee, but that won’t stop me from filling the mug with some refreshing Orange Juice and carrying on my day.  Of course, the Jacqui doll stole the mug away for photo opportunities and I am awaiting the moment where I will seek my revenge by stuffing her in the mug!

Fatima Al-Othman has a lovely shop in Burj Jassim where you can purchase a number of amazing items and you can actually take a look at them on her website it does not stop there you can customize your characters and have them designed especially for you, not to mention reach her on twitter and instagram.

Thanks Fatima for the awesome gift, it was absolutely divine!

This next season will be really sad for networks such as NBC where they used to be known for their comedy shows and this next season has a lack of comedy returning shows.  Of course the cancellations/ending of shows allows newer ones onto the scene but you can never guarantee a winner.  So let’s get cracking as to who got renewed and who will be ending their run next season.

All Network Renewals:

So in a way, if we look at how many new shows received a renewal it will seem that the new season was sort of a bust.  Let’s actually analyze the season, I’m kind of an analysis freak!

So the new shows that premiered this year were basically a failure with 22 of them being cancelled after airing a few episodes not to mention those that were never allowed to air.  Either way I guess this means new shows will come to our screens next year let’s hope they are winners and that they bring back our favorite stars.

 So let’s get cracking as to who got cancelled by whom?

All Network Cancellations:

I guess it’s time to say “Good-Bye” to these shows and move on, it’s a shame though but that means newer shows will come up next year and hopefully some keepers.

They have introduced the following three stuffed crust flavors:

• Volcano Stuffed Crust: Comes with two kinds of cheeses – mozzarella and tasty cheddar cheese oozing out of the golden crust.
• Crunchy Stuffed Crust: Comes with creamy mozzarella cheese topped with crunchy cornflakes.
• Spicy Stuffed Crust: Comes with creamy mozzarella cheese coated in chili spice with even more intense spiciness sprinkled on top.

I received the pizzas in the following flavors:

Crunchy Stuffed Crust Vegetarian – which I enjoyed but it was slightly heavy

Volcano Stuffed Crust Margherita – this is a classic and absolutely delicious

Spicy Stuffed Crust Super Supreme – I didn’t taste this one as I hate spicy food but my family enjoyed it

Thanks Pizza Hut, Kout Food Group, and specifically Ms. Bibi for the lovely lunch we sure enjoyed it.

The meeting was a nice cozy one with the attendance of the salon owners Ms. Noura and Amwaj Al Bahar along with fellow blogger PinkGirlQ8.  We were able to chat with him a bit and get to know him more and I unleashed my insane questions (not really that insane) but one of the things I insanely enjoyed was the advice I was able to get from him and he was really down to earth.

One of the things I wanted to do was cut blunt bangs (sort of like Christina Ricci, Kim Kardashian’s latest bangs, Zoeey Deschannel, etc) and so I proceeded to ask him that question while hoping he would tell me he would be able to cut them for me.  Michael asked me about the type of my hair and expressed his worries that since I have naturally wavy/curly hair that short bangs will pretty much fly off my forehead and frizz up in this weather.  His professional advice was to continue styling my hair the way I have been and to avoid the bangs unless I grow out my hair and he’ll be able to advise me further.

Michael Shaun Corby has trained most of the staff in Gloss Salon to cut and style hair using his techniques and the stylist Ms. Khadeeja was one of the winners in his contest, he told me if I were to cut my hair then she would be the perfect person  to do so.

Gloss Salon is located in Jabriya Block 1A, Street 8 and funnily enough this wasn’t my first time there.  I visited them almost two years ago when I was looking for someone to give me a retro hairstyle and Ms. Khadeeja was the one who styled my hair at the time.  They carry the Alterna haircare products and they have three exclusive treatments unfortunately I do not recall them at the moment but will definitely share more information soon.

Michael showed us a very simple hair-style during his interview with Al-Watan TV and I simply fell in love with it, it took literally 5 – 10 minutes and started off with two braids.

Thank you Ms. Noura & Ms. Amwaj for the lovely gift and thanks for having us! I truly enjoyed myself and hopefully I will pass by in a couple of months when I’m ready for a haircut.
