Earlier this month, NBC announced that they were renewing 3 of it’s favorite comedies “Community”, “Parks & Recreation”, and “The Office”.
The news doesn’t come as a surprise but it is a welcome relief as fans all over the world let out that breath they’ve been holding. Earlier on, “30 Rock” had received another season order, thus with the above 3 sitcoms getting renewals the Thursday Night Comedy line up on NBC is safe. We have yet to hear about the fate of the all new sitcom “Perfect Couples” and “Outsourced”, however signs do not point to successful results as they are struggling with their ratings.
The announcement from Bob Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment, makes everything official in which he mentions the below:
I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively,” said Greenblatt. “Along with ’30 Rock,’ they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication. ‘The Office’ continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television; ‘Parks & Recreation’ has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to ‘The Office’; and ‘Community’ is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night.
Here is hoping our favorite shows continue to get good ratings and receive renewals in the upcoming month.

May is creeping closer to us, and it’s officially that time of the year where networks proceed to cancel some of their lowest performing shows. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that HBO has decided to pull the plug and cancel their show “In Treatment”.
“In Treatment” follows Dr. Paul Weston’s therapy sessions and his clients in contrast with his sessions between him and his own therapist (kind of like a therapy within a therapy). It is currently in its 3rd season and officially its last. The series was a success in the previous years in which it won some awards, however viewership for Season 3 has heavily fallen to its lowest point drawing in only 259,000 viewers. HBO is however keeping the door open for future projects of the show which means we might be able to see spin-off’s or a similar show in the near future.
