Ever since the beginning of May news of some shows that were being renewed and canceled were circulating the web but we can now bring you the important details of what was renewed and what shows weren’t.
FOX have announced the renewals of the following shows: “Bones” (7th Season), and “House” (8th Season). Those shows joined the ranks of the already renewed other shows: “American Dad” (8th Season), “Bob’s Burgers” (2nd Season), “The Cleveland Show” (3rd Season), “Family Guy” (10th Season), “Fringe” (4th Season), “Glee” (3rd Season), “Raising Hope” (2nd Season), and “The Simpsons” (23rd Season).
However, most of the new shows and existing ones did not make the cut and were sent out on the chopping block, those shows include: “Breaking In”, “The Chicago Code”, “Human Target”, “Lie to Me”, “Traffic Light”, “Running Wilde”, and “Lone Star”..
The verdict is still out on “American Idol” however it is mostly likely going to be renewed.
With 7 shows out of the running it made room for some new pilots that will be premiering in the Fall Line-up, a look at those shows will be taken before the season starts in hopes that they do not canceled beforehand.
Late April, “The CW” announced it’s renewals for the next season of Fall 2011 – 2012 and within the announcement came the renewals of fan favorite shows; “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gossip Girl,” “Supernatural,” “90210,” and “America’s Next Top Model”.
No word has been given yet in regards to the freshman series “Hellcats,” and “Nikita”; nor any information about “One Tree Hill.”
“The Vampire Diaries”, this author’s ultimate favorite show is now the most-watched show on the network, and thankfully that gives it a chance to return for a third season of blood-sucking vampires, werewolfs, witches, and so much more in our beloved Mystic Falls. It also means more Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert/Katerina Petrova (Nina Dobrev) so hurray for the renewal.
“Gossip Girl” and “90210” also remain some of the popular series on the network being aimed at the younger demographics therefore the renewal in this case came as no surprise. “Supernatural” will see its 7th Season in the fall, as will “America’s Next Top Model” who will see it’s 17th season.
To the shows that were renewed, yaaay! And to those who weren’t we wish them the best of luck in the axed yard.
